The locals of Foksingkot have constructed a motorway at their own expenses and with contribution of labour work.

The locals of Foksingkot VDC, located 42 km east of Tansen, built Kateni – Kharkehan – Labe motorway. A total of 43 households – 24 from Labe village and 19 from Kharkehan – have donated Rs 18,000 each while Foksingkot VDC chipped in with Rs 81,000. An additional Rs 77,850 was collected from other quarters.

A total amount of Rs 932,850 was invested along with the locals’ labour donation to construct the motorway, Consumer Committee Treasurer, Prem Bahadur Thapa said.

The village, which is located at one of the remotest corners of the district, has lagged behind in terms of development.
